Choosing a Baby Carrier or Baby Wrap That’s Right for You by Infantino

A baby is on the way or has just arrived, and the weight of many decisions is on your shoulders.  We’ve been there and that’s why we want to offer as much information as possible to help make choosing a baby carrier a happy and successful experience.

At Infantino, we believe in the benefits of babywearing and that what works for some may not work for others.  That’s why we created a line of functionally-diverse carriers that suit many carrying needs, ranging from a quick convenience need to helping parents follow the practice of attachment parenting.

We think baby carrier reviews can be very helpful and want to help steer you towards the right carrier. There’s also something to be said about getting information from the folks that make them and we want to do our best to provide you with helpful information that helps you find the perfect fit.  So we’ve developed an informational babywearing carrier guide that includes an overview of carrying style and baby carrier types.

In our guide we cover all styles of carriers including wrap carriers, ergonomic carriers, Mei Tai baby carriers, backpack carriers and soft-structured carriers with front-facing carrier positions.  Once you’ve identified what baby carrier seems right for you, we invite you to look through our selection of top quality baby carriers and see what we have to offer. All of the Infantino carrier pages include educational carrier videos that show you how to use the carrier, which, we think, helps a lot in the decision process. You’ll also see very unique features that can’t be found in any other carrier like the supportive capped sleeves of the Bliss Carrier and the lumbar feature of our Sync Wrap carrier.

We love babywearing and we want you to love it, too. So be it the Sash Mei Tai, our Bliss carrier or Infantino’s carrier accessories, we hope you’ll enjoy keeping baby close as much as we do.

Happy babywearing!
Love, Infantino

More Tummy Time, Less Crummy Time

So here’s the thing with tummy time. We hear the pediatricians tell us how important tummy time is and we try to make time for it, but for some of us just getting through one minute of tummy time can be difficult (for both us and baby).

Baby is uncomfortable, then cries, then we instinctually scoop them up and call it quits. Then we feel guilty because we know tummy time is important.

Having been through this cycle ourselves as parents, we set out to make a better tummy time experience. To do it, we worked with pediatricians and occupational therapists to get to the source of what really makes tummy time so crummy.

Here’s what we learned. Babies feel very vulnerable on their tummies. And lifting up their heads and torso to look around, listen, touch and get comfy with their surroundings is hard work for their weak upper body muscles. This makes for a bummer of a time.

So we set out to create something that would help make it a little easier and turn tummy time from frustrating to fun. Our solution is the Right Angle Tummy Triangle.

The Right Angle Tummy Triangle has a unique angled design that helps baby engage their lower, stronger trunk muscles and build their not-so-big upper body muscles. The angle also gives them a better viewing vantage point and makes it easier for parents to get on the floor and encourage eye contact. And as baby gets stronger and stronger you can adjust the activity arch, with its playful mirror, to keep them engaged and challenged as they grow.

To learn more, watch this video or check out the Right Angle Tummy Triangle on our website. And if you simply must have it  – you can buy it online at Amazon.com, BabiesRus.com or at any Babies “R” Us store.

Stimulating & Soothing
by: Infantino • June 30, 2011 • Posted in Infantino, News/Articles

We wanted to share a great article from BabiesToday explaining the importance of early learning experiences and the unique differences and needs for both “soothing” and “stimulating” times.

We embrace these ideas and have worked to create a line of products that cross both environments, with designs, features and accessories that nurture and engage. We’re hoping you find these insights helpful in your parenting – you can read the article in its entirety right here.

Tummy Time
by: Infantino • March 16, 2011 • Posted in Infantino

We’re hearing more and more these days about the importance of tummy time, like in this recent article “Lack of tummy time causes developmental delays in children,” from KY3.com news channel. This article outlines expert opinions and advises against letting babies spend too much time in “buckets”, like car seats, and not enough time on their stomachs, being mobile and developing motor skills.

We’ve always been big advocates of tummy time and have worked to create play mats and accessories to make it easy for you and fun for your little ones, like our Boogie Woogie Bug Gym, which you can check out right here.

Happy Skies!

OK, so flying with little ones can be a little stressful. Hauling around all that extra luggage, changing diapers in odd spots, long hours in unfamiliar places and, once on board, the inevitable stares from fellow passengers – all secretly thinking “please don’t put me next to the crying baby.”

Well, we’re doing what we can to make flying a little friendlier – whenever our team travels we bring along some of our favorite toys and pass out to parents flying with little ones. It’s our way of saying hang in there. So on your next trip from here to there, keep a look out for us while we spread the love and smiles!
